So hopefully after the summer is over i can start building my yota. I found a lift tires and black steelies for about 1500 combined but I know i will have to re-gear. I am thinking 4.56 over the factory 4.10. I dont want lockers becuase i WILL BREAK EVERYTHING AGAIN. haha but looking on the web I am having trouble finding gears, they are all for tacomes Cruisers and Hiluexs but i dont have any of those. All help will be great, also if any one is wanting to make money on helping me put the lift on hit me up.

So after thinking I think I'm gonna try to do just a two inch lift with some 32's or maybe stay with 31's but I am wanting to regear any suggestions on what gear ratio?

There is really a lot of options for you to get a cheap lift without doing a body lift.
31's and 32's will fit stock height if you are not sagging too bad in the rear.
4.56 is a good gear for 31's or 32's but if you plan to go to 33's you might as well do 4.88
If you have 4.10 now then it should pull them fine but it might be sluggish trying to speed up a mountian.

Well this morning heading to work my yota broke down. What i thought was a simple blown head gasket turns out to be a BLOWN ENGINE. With anti-freeze and water all in the bottom end and in the head I Hydrolocked my truck. Well seeing as how a Jasper crate 22re installed is gonna run me roughly 4300 installed at the shop Im screwed. Not to mention my dog was killed. So after losing him and losing my truck this week has sucked.

Wow if it wasn't for bad luck Sam you wouldn't have any. That's really high for the motor. Shop it around. I also may know somebody who can do it for alot less. I can give him a call if you want. A 22re is about the simplest motor you can get. I'd call a couple junk yards first to see if they have a used one. Don't go new at this point.

Sorry for the string of back luck bro. but x2 on what Matt said. I've ran 2 diff motors from Advance Auto with good luck. You can easily rebuilt a motor for 1200-2000k depending on how bad the block is, amount of machine work, etc...

I left a message with my buddy about how much for the installation. There is no way you should pay that much. You can get a LC Engineering Long block for about 1900.

jasper motors are high to begin with. I bought mine from www.orientengine.com for a fair price but you could easily buy a used one for way cheaper.

Sam sorry to hear about the string of bad luck my friend. Try Import Auto Recyclers in Salem. I have gotten quite a few used engines from them in the past and they have always been top notch. Jasper motors are very well done but pricey. The price you posted for an engine swap is just way over what is reasonable!!!!
Shop around if you dont get a price you like call me.
