Thank you for talking about this poker run for my mother in law. I am hoping there will be numerous people from numerous offroad clubs there. I have already secured good raffle prizes as well, knives, hunting, fishing items, and offroad merchandise as well. Warn, mile marker, rugged ridge and numerous offroad companies have stated they will donate items to, and some of these are big ticket items. We will be updating raffle items on SWV4W site weekly. The plan is to take one group up potts jeep trail and another group of stockers and anyone who does not want to ride the jeep trail to potts west and another easy road to be determined. I hope to see some of SCC there and thank you.

The poker run made the news paper.
So I have recieved emails or phone calls about attending the poker run from Lost Jeepers, seven hills, south side, Twisted, SCC, middle penn, A group out of west virginia, K and I from Kentucky, The group from Craig, A group from tenn, sand rails for the stock run ( yes they are street legal according to them) and 20 or so more from interested people. I say as long as it does not rain we will have a good turnout. I believe a lot of these with the exception of scc, some of middle penn, twisted, some of lost jeepers want to ride the stock trip. So Potts jeep trail will not be that packed, most of the people I spoke with want to ride in the easy division.

i would love to attend but what are the requirements?
no requirement just a $15 entry fee, its a benefit poker run for a members mother in law. Their are gonna be two groups going out 1 will be the stock or those that want a easy scenic route and 2 up potts mtn. for some rock crawling. The prizes are said to be close to $5000 total! so with all the great people to wheel with, a great cause and a ton of great raffle prizes I for one will be there.

Or as soon as everyone gets back to the pines if it is earlier than 4, also you could do the poker run and not the raffle if you need to leave before the raffle is over.

This was a great ride and I had the worst carnage of the event :rotflmao5:! Me and my wife continued the ride with john L. in his silver rubicon and so I took lots of pics. Had a blast with a great group even tho I ended up just riding shotgun. I didnt get one pic and thats because I helped grab the front bumper of our trail leaders xj to keep it from almost rolling instead of getting the pic! I know michelle got a little scared there because i was a little scared myself. Now on to the pics.

had a great time. found some issues yesterday. but this was also the first time out for the cj. had heatiing issues due to electric fan wasn't big enough. does fine on open road but heats up on trail. altenator bit the dust. jumped it n drove to advance in salem. got to salem n noticed jeep acting really bad as i slowed down n stopped. pulled into burger king n lug nuts on drivers front backed off n chewed up wheel studs. tighten back up was fine to get home. but drove to advance got altenator n the hole for the bolt that goes into the block was to smaal. advance didn't have a drill. so rob drove home got a drill n bits. came back drilled it out n put it on. drove home without any more issues. got home around 11:30. but it was still a blast.

No problems on my trip, other than the tree going through the soft top. Rob took care of the tree for me. All the CJ's did well, including the CJ10A. If you still have a 300 for a 4:1, I might know where a 176 is. I also have an old CJ fan shroud if you need it...

As I sit here and contemplate how to say the biggest thank you of my life, a few tears roll down my face and I realize there is no way of expressing the feelings that I have at this moment in time. Sincerely I would like to thank everyone who attended the event. I would like to thank all of the sponsors. A special thank you to SWVa4W. This fundraising event would not have been possible without SWVa4W and everyone who attended the poker run and raffle. So how many vehicles attended the event? There were 37 waiver forms. There may have been some vehicles who did not sign the waiver form. Although SWVa4W did not need to sign waiver forms. Directly before the raffle started, I counted the vehicles at the pines campground and I counted 61. The best guess I have is, there was 51 who drove in the event and the remaining 10 only came to the raffle. During the raffle, I counted 192 people. After the raffle was over, I spoke with the seven hills jeep club and added their club members into the 192. I hope I do not miss any clubs who attended the event. Thus, members from clubs who attended the event, Seven Hills Jeep Club, Lost Jeepers, Twisted, Star City Crawlers, Roanoke VW. The event raised 1,265 dollars. This event raised a lot of money and was really fun for everyone who attended the event. I hope to see everyone soon, be safe and tread lightly.
