I am new to this forum and I was wondering how often there are scheduled trail rides in the Roanoke area. I want to take my TJ out and was wondering when the next trial ride will be. I am looking forward to getting her a little dirty!

I unfortunately won't be able to personally put anything together until around 1st of May, April is busy with work, my vacation, and the dogwood parade. What's the specs on your TJ? I'm sure a few will be putting together some runs. I also have some limited invites to private property for some trail rides almost weekly.

Unfortunately in this region we have suffered alot of trail closures over the last couple of years. Pott's is about all thats left aside from a few scenic trails. Their are a few left such as Shoe Creek and Stoney run but they are a bit of a ride to get to. We are working on setting up a few in the upcoming months for those with milder rigs.
Stay tuned for details.:2thumbsup:

I'd be down, but it'll be my first time driving on Pott's and I want to keep it low key if I do it... Breaking anything else right now is out of the question! lol

Yeah, the winch part maybe tough. I'm thinking about going from the bottom just up to the Rocks, then go back down. I'm not looking to do anything crazy, I just want to go somewhere, and that's the only one I know. So, if you want to meet up there, let me know. I'll have a newbie with me too in a wrangler. Don't know the specs on it yet though.

LOL Yes, you remember right since you're the one that rescued the Yota. But I don't have any problems doing the first part though. I just won't try the rocks without some experianced trail riders with me.

I would love to ride potts, been on vacation and working my butt off around the new house so I need a break! The weather looks great for sunday (80's) so who all will be able to go? I will go if we can get a few going. Meeting at trail head around 10 or 11?

I've actually really been contemplating going to Burke's Garden in the Tazewell area. Hate to go by myself, but I will if I have to. I have all weekend off and the weather is looking good to get away from civilization.

Ok, I'm going to Potts probably around 2 on Sunday for sure. It would be great if some others wanted to go. I can meet a little earlier if needed, but not before 12 probably. Either let me know on here, or send me an email to ken@dribnus.com
Should be a great day for this run.

Yep, no need in tearing up the trail this early in the season. Tread Lightly guys, we want to keep it open!

Don't think I'm going to be able to do Pott's today but hopefully I can catch the next one. I've got a lot of stuff to do today and the weather is bumming me out! LOL!
Danny's convinced me to try to come meet you guys at CVS though, so if I can get what I need to get done in time, I'll be out there to at least say hi.

Going to head up to Potts again on Saturday with a friend who just got a XJ on 35s. I'm not sure what time we are going and hopefully it doesn't rain to hard today. Ill post a time as soon as we finalize our plans but anyone who wants to can join us.

Are you going "top-down" or "bottom-up"? The reason I ask is my son wants to take his XJ up there but with no seat time off-road, he would be better going down. If I go he would follow me.

Ok, ready to hit a trail again this week. Not sure if anything besides Potts is open in the Craig County area. We are going Thur. I know that's a hard day for most people, but it's the only day I can go for the next week or so. If anyone wants to go or knows what else is open, please let me know.

Just checked the weather. At this point it's questionable. My back seating area isn't covered, and I have 3 people going with me. So if it's going to be cool and rainy, Thur won't work for me. I can also do it Sat if the weather is looking better for that day. We can stay in touch and just see how the weather plays out for us. I really like the Thur idea though.

Urghhh! The weather forecast changed dramatically--yet again! It was supposed to be dry and in the 80's pretty much all week.. now it looks like 50% of the week they're calling for rain.

Yeah, that's what I thought too. Now it's 80% thunderstorms on Thur and 60 deg. Not the best weather for an open cab.

The weather predictions keep changing. Sat is looking better than Thur, but who knows. I'm good for either day, so let's get some feedback on what works for anyone wanting to ride Potts this week. I don't care if we go bottom --> up or vice versa.
