I did this so no one had to go thru all the junk to get answers.
We are meeting at 10 a.m. at the Hardees on West Main salem. Try to be there right at 10 because we might have to meet some other guys at the hardees in blacksburg.
Once everyone meets there we will then head off to Blacksburg hardees where we will meet everyone else at 10:30 -10:45.
After that we will hit up the shell for gas junk etc and hit the trials. Id imagine there are gonna be alot of rigs out tomorrow because of this awesome weather so look for the run to last at least 4 hours.
Set your CB's to channel 38.
See you guys tomorrow.
From what i can tell we have 6 scc members going and 2 nrv's so 8 so far but maybe more.
DO NOT FORGET TO MOVE YOUR CLOCKS 1 HOUR AHEAD TONIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sure you remember the fuel that was gushing out of the back of my 7 when I was on the incline when JT pulled me out at Bobcat 2 weeks ago. It seems to be a problem with the seal in the gas tank. Same problem, but this time, not only was I loosing fuel when I got stuck in all the mudd. I've got pics, But was debating on posting. Looks like I have to now. haha. I got level and stopped the dumping. Now I can't get fuel to my carb to get the motor to even start. Luckely I had a one gallon fuel tank in the back. No Jerry Can, but it got the job done. After dumping fuel strait into the carb and about an hour or so of praying and cranking and fuel, WE got her going and ideling. This was after the first hard right turn at the foot of the mountain. Got her going and took her back down. She gave me NO problems on the way home. doing 65 all the way home. Once I got to town, she started back firing a lot. Needless to say, she's taking a break till I can figure out this gas issue. I drove the cadi to work. Very sad especially today!
Thanks again to all the fellas (and Matt's wife and little one and nephew)! Thanks for your patience and time and help. I hope you guys finished the ride in style!
Sorry for the story, but now you know MY story. I can't speak for the rest of the fellas. There were only 5 total rigs. I dropped and 4 finished. Pics soon to come.

We finished the ride with no real eventfully situations occurring. Made it up roothill without any problems. We got all the way to the clearing and were standing around and taking some pictures and we thought that we heard some screaming further off down mountain. We didn't hear it for a while after and decided to leave, were going on down the road and spotted a rescue vehicle going up the road with its lights on(a ford crown vic). We decided to turn around because there was no way that vehicle would make it down the trail, got back to the clearing and somehow or other he had made it between all of the rocks that you get to just before the clearing. Apparently there were some people in trouble further down the mountain. Two police showed up a little bit later followed by an ambulance and another rescue truck. I drove one of the rescue personnel and his backboard down the trail because I had taken my back seat out and had plenty of room. They found the people, and older gentleman and his wife, and they believe the gentleman had a stroke. Paul ended up driving the gentleman out in his truck up to the rescue squad because it was about a mile to the clearing and he was in no condition to walk. We got back up to the rescue squad and they headed on to the hospital. The rest of the day was uneventful, we just drove on and headed home.

Well damn, wish I would have been there so I could tow you the rest of the way up.
Just kidding...hope the Jeep is doing ok...but if it never broke it wouldn't be any fun!
I finally fixed my problem and am almost done installing the 2" lift.

SCC TO THE RESCUE!! :thumb: Way to go guys. Sorry about your carb issues Justin, I can empathize with you. This little red jeep is carbed, and really needs to be cleaned or something. But, that's the way it goes with these old jeeps brother, @least you got to actually go to the trail, I had to make use of the warm weather out in the driveway:mad:

Man, I'm sorry i missed all of that. I get an adrenaline rush out of medical situations out in the boonies. I hope the fella is OK, were they wheelers, hikers, equestrians?
Good job to you all in being there and helping out, that goes a long ways in changing public opinions of off-roading.
Justin, be proud that the rig got you there and got you back home, thats all you can ask of it. I hope your wife wasn't turned off by the mechanical issues, they just happen sometimes. You'll get it figured out and fixed.

Good publicity! Need to get that nationally televised or something, shed a good light on us! :2thumbsup:
On a sour note though: Just found out that the lower section of Bobcat that was owned by the Hoages has been sold. We're working on finding out who bought it and what their plans are for it. Also, we are looking into easement rights. I'll keep you guys posted on what we find, but it looks like this may be the end of Bobcat/Special Trail... :(
