If anyone thought Oak Ridge trails were a cakewalk, simply add a couple of inches of early morning snow and a slow drizzle all day long. Red VA clay turns into some nasty mud that cakes tires up like nothing else.
Day one was a blast. Here are some pics and a short vid I got during the day. I'll get more pics tomorrow...

Oak Ridge is between Lynchburg and Charlottesville off 29. It is a private park.

Great pics! If you like mud then you would have had a good time. It looks like you found some rocks, all the trials we did was 100% mud! The snow was pretty though but with that and the full night of rain made for some sloppy thick red mud. The fire dept came out and was cleaning off the road...
I'll try and post up my pics later, heading back up there this evening for the dinner and raffle.

We did come across some rocks, which provided the only damage of the day, dont know the guy's name but he took it well..

And a very cool little pop-up,

I hope others can provide more, it was hard to walk around out there so I didnt get many pics while we were on the trails except for guys moving the tree off the trail..

Did a unit bearing come apart or did he break the knuckle?
There is no way I'd camp in that cold.

I am not sure what actually broke, Jerry knows. The cold wasnt so bad, but the rain sucked especially when the camper started leaking...
Crappy pic..

There will probably be a couple of events down there this year. There is a Jeep Jamboree down there in April (16-18). They also usually have a Rover Rally down there during the summer.
The next event I will probably go to there will be the VA4WDA Annual in September (18-19). The VA4WDA will post info in a few months (www.va4wda.org).

The ride was a lot of fun, it was even muddier on Sunday after the nonstop rain but I didn't get any pictures. That black TJ is belongs to my brother, the lower balljoint popped out of the knuckle and broke the axle shaft but they were able to pull the shaft and seat the ball joints well enough to yank it off the rocks and drive it back out to the road and onto the trailer.

I will likely go to the Va ride in Sept also ( keeping fingers crossed for no rain ;) ). I have heard good things about this event and looking forward to it!
I thought about the Jeep Jamboree untill I saw the cost... too expensive for me!

Saturday was definitely a lot sloppier than Friday was. We had one of the smaller groups (only 8 vehicles total). We spent about 3 hours trying to get everyone up past the muddy hill climb on Bob's Creek trail. That was with everyone in the group running 33's or larger and having at least one locker.
Of course I forgot and left my camera at home for day 2.
