"Most" of us are rock crawlers, I personally avoid mud like the flu. Every time I have broke a rig it has been in the mud.
Also, there is not any "legal" mud at broad run, just some stream crossings. Anything off-trail/road is "illegal" and private property up there. I would go to Bobcat if I needed a good mud fix.

I am not a mud person either, for me there is no adrenaline rush going through mud, and I had my fill of the muck yesterday at Oak Ridge. Rocks is where its at :D

I have thought about changing my screen name because the mud is just too costly on my jeep, and takes too much to upkeep. I'm not saying that I didn't enjoy the mud, still do, but it has definately gotten old. I just like the good ol' trail rides.

I am a Technical-Rocks-Off Camber/Scenic trailride -4wheeler also.
I still go mudding .......as long as it's not in MY rig !
Seriously though if ya got an itch for the goo get in contact with these guys http://www.seacristmotorsports.com/ they should be able to point you in the direction of some legal mudding spots.:thumb:

Didn't see this or I would have posted sooner.
Bobcat is in Blacksburg. Most of the mud is at the top, so if that's all you're after you may as well go in that way, but t's a little harder to find...
Basically take 460 West, through b-burg toward WV. After you pass the last b-burg exit, you will be climbing a mountain. At the very top (just about exactly) there will be a forest service road on the left. Take the road up to the circle, and head down the trail.
There are some trails up there you are not allowed on, but the main trail should be obvious. If you reach any logging areas, turn around, they are private!
The usual way in is at the bottom. To get there, take the Prices fork exit off 460 towards downtown b-burg. Then take your first left onto Old Glade Rd. At the stop sign, turn left down Glade Rd. I am not sure of the exact distance, probably about 2-3 miles, you will come to a pretty sharp curve after some "whoopty" hills. Shortly after the turn, you will come to Bobcat Rd, a gravel road on the right. Go straight up it and veer to the left at the end. Don't go right through the end state maintnance sign as one would think.
You will travel down the trail a bit and come to "coal hill".
This is pretty much all fair game for wheeling, but don't go down the trails at the top of coal hill as they lead to more private land.
Some of the holes up there are pretty nasty, so don't go alone! If possible, go with someone that has been so you don't head off in the wrong direction.
