This Jeep started life as an 1981 CJ-8 Scrambler. As you can see theres not much Scrambler left LOL. It's been purpose built for function over form.
I bought this from Jim Rutkofske in Michigan. Very impressed with the capabilty but as with every thing else you have to make it your own. Have a few changes in mind later this season.
Specs

Ran out of room.:rolleyes-1::D
Front and rear fox 2.0 reservoir shocks with 16" of travel
Rear double triangulated 4 link with 1 1/2 .25 wall DOM The anti squat is perfect! Alll links are Currie Johnny joints.
Front 3 link with panhard bar done with same DOM. All links are rubicon express.
39.5 x 14 R16 Iroks with trail ready bead locks
Remote radiator,hand throttle,full cage,boat sided,full hydro steering,etc.
6.32 x 3.15 x 5.38 = 107.105 to 1 crawl ratio.
Will be going through the fluids this week, installing winch and CB etc.
Planned mods from here include hercaline tub,new seats,re-work front end to get lights in but keep the up travel, relocate battery box, install storage console and tool storage, repaint gonna keep the sublime green though I think.
Tell me what you think guys and any ideas on reworking he front end for lights is welcome.

Very nice man. Just one suggestion, lose the I-Suk tires. I've NEVER seen a rig with those on it work well. TSL's or SX's are the best I've seen run. I'm sure the Irok's do ok out west, but here in the muddy east, you need a real tire. :2thumbsup:

I don't have any ideas for ya but I do have a N.O.S cj hood, grill and one fender(I think is is passenger side) that I can let go of for a good price. That is, if you need them.
Anthony
BTW I was going to tell you to bring it down tomorrow and play around:) Only 20 minutes from vinton!

The biggest problem I see is the loose nut on the steering wheel.:driving:
Sean, that is exactly how I want to build my next rig. With a check. Looks great.

That's a deal right there. Does that include the original purchase of hte xj. Either way that's some good horse trading.

Relocated battery box to the rear. Rewired the fan, ran extensions for winch power. Rerouted some wiring I didn't like the layout of. Got one wire left to run for the CB then I FINALLY get to go wheel this thing Sat at Crozet.:driving:
Would have got more done already but some A$$HOLE decided they were more entitled to my welder than I am.:Hot03:
I have an appointment with Arcet Wed to demo 2 new miller welders. Not how I had planned on doing so but at least I can get a new one.
Anthony thanks for the invite Sat but I was seeing red for about 4 hrs after my welder got nabbed.

Got ripped off out of the shop I'm guessing friday afternoon while I was at the parts store. No help from the cops. They got my old lincoln welder. Going to demo the new Miller machine today before work.
Shop has been fortified a bit and more to come. Adding keypad style lock and more motion lights.
I live in a great neighborhood but it just goes to show what happens when you aren't carefull.
I learned my lesson to say the least!
Oh well feces occurs.
Time to go break in Lucky!:driving::wings:

Intial run went VERY well!:2thumbsup::wings: Did everything I wanted all day. Gonna have to add a PS cooler to get a lil more reserve on fluid for the ram. (will add PSC pump when budget allows) Will be modding the kick panel area of both floor boards so I can get a better view of the tire placement without a spotter.
Cheap seats OK looking into Hunsaker suspension seats now though.
Paul I should have new welder by this weekend or next.:thumb:
Been going through the wiring harness starightening things up etc.
Had a snap ring come off on DS rear lower link other than that no issues.:D

Finally fixed the Johnny Joint that came apart.
Had a lil more character after going arse over tea kettle playing on body shop in Crozet.
I keep an old scissor style jack around for stuff like his. Put it between the cage and qaurter pushed most of it back out. Will finish body work when paint finally gets here. But I'm not really worried about the body much.
Deciced I REALLY needed door bars so I left Lucky in the capable hands of Chris Packard to fab and install them. Turned out great!
Got the bars painted the interior freshened up a bit etc.
