Just do what I did.... rebuild/repaint it all :yup: No one can look at my jeep and realize it's the same one the previous owner thrashed on for some years.
Back on topic, it looks good, what are you plans for it?

I wasn't trying to piss u off, I was just saying if that wasn't the one that was around here it looks awfully close. Just like you my 5 was bought from a local guy that everybody knew that it was his. We changed the jeep from a spring over back to spring under, painted it (Autumn Orange...kinda like a copper orange) and put lots of small touches to make it mine. That was about 3-4 yrs ago and now everytime I take it out it always get the "nice Jeep" compliment. Once you do a few small things to yours that will happen to you as well. Again, not trying to make you mad, sorry if I did.

I know you wasent trying to tick me off and i didnt get ticked off. If i seem like a butthole about it than i am sorry sometimes i get diffensive. like i was telling hadfield4wd all i want people to say is nice, cool, or thats awesome but i havent got the first person that told me that except my neise ( i dont know how to spell it) she seen it and she loved it and she is only 10 and everytime i see her she ask me about it and when am i going to drive it. i took her around the parking lot couple of times and she thinks it is the coolest. she is the only one in the family that loves it just as much as i do.when i get it going on the road i am taking her 4 wheeling with me. OHH i forgot to tell yall i know what the problem was of why it was walking in two lanes the STEERING GEAR BOX IS BAD and a new one is $470 so it will take another week try to get the money and than i can drive it. MOST LIKELY IT WILL BE READY APRIL 25th for the dogwood parade.:driving::wings:

Looking good man!!!:2thumbsup: Is it manual or power steering? If Man I've got a rebuilt box for ya on the cheap. Can't wait to see you at the parade. Don't sweat others opinions on buying built or not. I've built 4 cars from frame up 2 of them CJ's others I have bought in one stage of a build to another. Some I've bought beat on for a season and then tore EVERYTHING down to redo it.
Truthfully I look for rigs partially built now on purpose it's just WAY less expensive than doing it from scratch and yes you are gonna change alot of things to suit your own needs and style.
Bottom line who cares what anyone else thinks. . . you didn't buy it for someone else you bought it for yourself. So have fun with it and :harhar: to the haters. LOL

I hear ya on the money part bro. Looks like mt FI is gonna have to wait a lil longer.:rolleyes-1:
Before you buy a new box have you tried cranking down the worm gear? On top of the box you'll find a large hex nut and a stem in the middle loosen the nut and crank down on the stem to take some of the slop out.
Give me a call soon I wanna come check out both CJ's and I need to ask your dad if he can get me a good price on some paint for my tow rig.
