JT - Did you do the paint job on your own or take it somewhere? Wondering if it would be worth it to try and repaint the hood of my 300zx by myself.

Erek, I did paint it myself Apr 2008, I started learning how to paint cars about 4-5yrs ago off/on as I work on my many projects. This is first complete from start to finish I've done, have done alot of single body panels, etc... on other cars I'm building w/ my dad. This one isn't as perfect as I'd like on anything else, but it's my trail toy, not street/show queen. So Flat Black Acrylic Enamel w/ an extra mix of hardner turns to very low Semi-Gloss until you drench it in lot's of mud.... Not hard, but works better when you have all the equipment to do it with.

So my 2.5L 4cyl is about dead w/ 177k on it. Spewing all the oil from the dipstick tube. And I always thought valvecover gaskets sucked... :rolleyes-1: Anyways, I have some plans in store for motor/tranny/tcase swap. I will say this, it'll definately live up to the name Punisher when I'm done. Only details I'm releasing thusfar is the tranny/tcase Borgwarner T-18 and Dana 20 Tcase. Fairly common amongst older jeeps... :harhar: It will likely be carbureted until I can piece together the fuel injection parts, or setup Propane/Gasoline combo.... Maybe I'm getting a bit ahead of thinking... Stay tuned for progress updates, and some teaser pics in the next few weeks.

P.S.- Found fully built Dana 44, chromoly in/out Detriot and 5.13s, only needs new longside shaft... Amazing what 39.5x18" boggers can do to a stout D44.... :yup:

YJeXtreme
02-26-2009, 11:16 PM
Found my donor motor today, already have Tranny lined up, looking for Tcase... My stock configuration on tranny/tcase w/ my 5.13 ratio axles, i'm looking at 75-80:1 crawlratio, a set of aftermarket t-case gears and i'll be at roughly 105:1 not too shabby... and as a teaser, i'll be pushing almost 300 ft lb of torque..... :sSc_eek2: Stay tuned for some pics, and updates over next few weeks. Still sourcing out Radiator, and deciding on what exhaust I want to run, looking for something along the lines of flowmaster.... Any recommendations?

Well the front axle fell through.... :Hot03: so won't be able to complete the axle swap as originally planned. I do have ring/pinion and perches on the way for the 9". Will get the gear setup and axles reistalled. As for motor, I've been unsecessful on finding the parts i wanted for the motor of my choice, so, the 2.5L is getting torn down and rebuilt. Will attempt to get rest of parts together to finish building my D44, and look into just doing jeep as I have planned on in the long-run Stretched, Comp-cut, full cage, etc....

Back with motor swap... Thanks to Jon, I'll be installing a 4.0L and AX15, i'd prefer a beefier tranny, but it sure beats the extra dinky AX5 behind the 2.5L. Gears/install kit arrived the other week, and Spring perches arrived today for the 9" going to get that setup in the next few weeks, and hopefully get motor swap completed before the parade. Wish me luck... and keep your :fingerscrossed: for me on the time deadline!

That AX15 is a good tranny. The only thing I don't like is the fact you can't really shift quickly. I'll eventually be getting a B&M shifter for mine.

Not much moving on this due to lack of fundage... (ps BILLS SUCK and no OT Sucks too) Anyways, I'll have motor set into frame this weekend, weather permitting, Changed Rear-main seal tonight, just need some RTV to seal up the block again. Goal is set for Memorial day-weeknd for the Crozet Run, if it's not running under it's own power by then, entire drivetrain is getting stripped and redone throughout the year. Wish me luck!

Got rear main finished up, oil pan back on. Started work on motor-mount links. Rain killed my plans for today, was going to finish cleaning up frame-rails from old motor mounts, and try to mock up engine/tranny. will save that for next weekend if it's nice!

Here's some pics and please excuse my mess... too many projects going on!

Been awhile w/o updates or any work on the Jeep since I had hernia repair surgery in June.

Today brought the Jeep back up to the garage, finally got the belly pan off, had to cut the rear-most bolt on the driver's side, since the nut on inside of frame broke loose. Will weld a threaded stud into the opening. Gutted the Dana 30 and sold the carrier w/ ring/pinion. Also cleaned up some more of my Dana 44, and redid the ugly welds on my spring perch. I'm currently bidding on complete wiring harness for the YJ to fit the 4.0L. My goal is to have it near completion by mid/late fall. Depends on OT and fundage. I still need a good bit of parts such as:

Detroit Locker for the D44
Ring/Pinion for the D44
Longside shaft for D44
Splined hubs for D44
Shocks
Front/Rear brake components
D.O.M. for cage
SYE kit for the NP231
Tires
Exhaust
New rear driveshaft
New Clutch
New starter
New Slave Cylinder

Small update: My wiring woes of converting to OBD-II are now at an end. I just won a complete YJ wiring harness and ECM for 4.0L So now I just need to pickup a 91-95 Fuel rail for the OBD-I system, and I can just plug-n-go. Makes my life 100x easier. Should have the motor in by Mid August, depends how long it takes M.O.R.E. to send my poly-bushings for the motor-mount links I'm making. The win of the harness and ECM are definately mood boosters! Now I won't spend weeks or months sorting through wires with Sean! LMAO :wings:

The Dana 30 has been removed, 1 of the "new" springs is bolted up, still need 1 more Grade 8 bolt to make new centerpin on other spring. Will wait to bolt the D44 housing up until the motor is placed in. Goal is to have it rolling around on the 9" and D44 by late Aug. Plug up the harness, ECM, etc.. then load it on trailer to Seans so we can set the pinion angle on the 9" and measure for the rear driveshaft. Then will save up for the Detroit and 5.13 gears for front axle, order my DOM for cage and steering links, then lastly find a set of go-rounds. A few minor stuff in between too, but those are the majors. everything else can be had locally.

YJeXtreme
07-25-2009, 05:53 PM
Both front springs now in, have the front axle setting under it, but still need to get U-Bolts. Also need to order polybushings still from M.O.R.E. and hub assemblies. That will have to wait til next payday. Here's some pics, and yes...those are the D-30 ubolt plates, which are being used just to mock everything up. Will be ordering new front/rear U-bolt plates from BlueTorchFab.

Harness will arrive tomorrow, then will get my poly-bushings for motor mounts. Going to pull fenders, since will be going with BlueTorchFab's DIY tubefender kit. Still looking for Tcase preferably setup already w/ SYE. If i wasn't so anxious to be going, I would just wait til after all the OT pay for christmas, and my taxes in feb, and order my Stackk Dana300 :yup: but that'll come early next year! My Goal is to have motor in by 2nd week of Aug, and back on 4 of the same size rollers. I'll be happy it doesn't look like a "redneck dragster" anymore!

I removed the 2.5L Harness over the weekend, also removed the Stock YJ Fenders. Thursday, I'm ordering the bushings FINALLY! Will also be starting setup on the 9" This weekend, need to swap out 3rds since the ones I was using, has a chunk missing from the pinion bearing support. Also will be getting hardware to finish mounting spindles on the steering knuckles, and getting my hub-assembly so I can get it rolling again. Motor should be in my 3rd week of August, and wired up.

Well with bills, work, moving & my dads cars all at me at once Ive not done alot to the Jeep. I have to fab an adapter plate for the trans mount to the trans since i'm trying to use as many 95 wrangler parts as possible for future ease in replacement parts. Started it last night, going to weld up my motor mount brackets for the frame & try to get the motor set in place this weekend. Goal is tje move the Jeep over to Seans by end of sept so we can set rear pinion angle weld on shock tabs on front/rear axles etc... if OT picks up at work should be done by nov/dec.

Dave came by today, and after I finally found the drill bits I needed to bore out the motor mount tabs on the block, We got alot accomplished. Motor/tranny are mated together (for now, still need to have flywheel turned and order clutch) Motor is setting in between the frame rails, still need to center it up, and level it out. Going to try to get that done tomorrow night after work, and get the links cut and welded up, and get the frame tabs welded on. So by end of the week, motor will be free standing in the jeep for the first time. I'm sorting out finances right now so I can order my locker, SYE, front ring/pinion, Am still shooting to have this think running and on the road by November.

Picking up my tires tonight, set of grooved 38.5x13x16 TSLs, only about half tread left, but the price i'm getting them for is more than a steal, guy bought them from a friend of mine a year ago, and decided they were too big for his rig as a DD, so he's in a push to clear up space. Sean and I will be taking the factory YJ Fenders and using the inner wheelwell to make a set of tube-fenders. I can do it cheaper than buying the BTF DIY kits, and get the benefit of full wheelwells. So the stock fenders were bolted back up for time being. Will be skinning them with either 3/16th or 11guage steel. Also getting pricing on DOM, going to run 1 1/2" x .250 steering links with Heimjoints,

To finish the wiring i still need to buy a new CPS, as the 96 cherokee differs alot from the 93-95 Wrangler harness, also need to find my shop manual, so i can re-wire the alt. and starter, since the yahoo i bought the harness from was lazy and cut those connections off  oh well. Should be running soon, and on the trails for the first of next season! :wings:

Just a mild preview.... This is close to ride height...... will be about 3" shorter when bodylift is removed, and maybe 1-1 1/2 when wheels/tires mounted and not setting on jackstands.... But you get the idea. Still waiting on my wheels to come in stock so I can order them. Going to run 16x8 Crager V5's with weldon beadlock kit.... Since DOM is on the cheap right now, going to be doing full custom cage this winter too, none of the OEM cage will be used, will all be 1 3/4" x.120" DOM

Still Needs.... Wheels, Shocks, Heimjoints(for steering links), SYE, D44 R&P gearset, brake assemblies, & hub assemblies.... Not really alot left, still some minor things like the final UBolts I'll be running, used Advance cheap-o 1/2" for mockup going to Roanoke Spring Works for some 5/8" ubolts. Will do Chris, i'll post pic he did for me...its no extra cost if they use their "KORE" rings & just change the circle cutouts to skulls, and only $50 for complete Punisher cutouts w/o the KORE name in them.
Also on those waggy springs anyway you an salvage the drivers side Ubolt that goes through the pumpkin/housing? I need to see if it'll fit my housing so I can have it made in 5/8 diameter. Will get with you after Christmas to get the springs & new ubolt plates.

Waggy Springs? i have not heard of that before. Are they stock springs that give lift on a YJ. What is the benefit to using them? I didn't know you could us them on other jeeps.

YJeXtreme
01-27-2010, 06:06 PM
The old wagoneer front leaf springs are overall same lngth as YJ, however the centerpin is offset forward by 2" giving me a 2" stretch without altering shackles,etc... very common & easy mod for YJ's

I got the front springs from Chris on Sunday, need to take a trip to Roanoke Spring works to have some 5/8" Ubolts made up for the Dana44, and install new springs. I'm going to be removing a leaf to help lower them a bit and soften them up. Waiting on time for me or Sean to head to Crozet to pickup the stick of 1 1/2 DOM .250wall for my steering links. I am currently in process of working out a plan to convert the 9" to 6x5.5 lug pattern, as I can get some 16" 6 lug wheels for a good price from Chris' friend. and I already have all the 6lug parts for the Dana 44 from my donor housing that I snagged the Flattops from. Should save me a good bit of $$ and time. Latest date for wheeling is the EOD run, that's my plan for trial run out at Crozet. Hoping sooner, but either way, first trip will be Crozet, since I can trailer it, and i'm no more than 200ft from the truck and trailer at a given time....

Removed the front YJ springs, cussed the bolts on the waggy springs had to use the 12ton press to removed them from the bushings.... new springs installed on jeep...I do however need to remove 2 of the 5 leafs to soften them up & level them out with the rear springs. Had to redrill the brake hoses to fit the GM sized line bolt. I had to make a small notch in my belly pan so I could drop the trans/tcase in the right spot. The gues-ti-mate pinion angle is almost dead on, Needs to be angled up about 1.5 degree more. My steering links are welded up. I still need to order the jam nuts I forgot 1st time around. Already removed 2 leaves from each pack in the rear. It's a two Main leaf design spring, the fronts are old and VERRRRY sagged out. Going to possibly get another mainleaf added into them, and when the S.R.S. is complete it'll also help level it out. The lift is actually about ideal once the body liftis removed.

As of today I got the exhaust finished finally, and all the broken brake lines have been reflared with new fittings. Still missing some small odd/end parts to finish up the brakes before I can bleed them. Radiator is also bolted in, just need new hoses, and fill the system up.

Still looking for vacuum diagrams for the emisison system....

Got some accomplished thanks to my loving Girlfriend. She helped fill the radiator up yesterday, then today she helped me mount the electric fan, beat the hell out of some old brakedrum/spinles to seperate them so I could snag a small piece of hardware that I lost off my 9". Then helped me get the parts together for the rear brake drums, and cleaned out the inside! She kept pushin me to stay motivated, and for that I'm thankful. I got the pinion angle set, and started to burn in the spring perches.

Total done friday/today:
-Finished install of rear brakes
-Mounted Elec. Fan
-Hooked up Cooling hoses
-Filled Radiator
-Hookedup throttle cable
-Pinion Angle Set
-Welded 1/2 of one rear spring perch
-Front shock mounts tacked in place
-Inside of jeep cleaned out

To Do List for tomorrow:
-Finish welding spring perches
-Finish welding Shock Tabs
-Finish mounting drag link
-Replace U-joints in front D/S
-Install Serpentine Belt
-Bleed Brakes/Adjust rear shoes
-Wire Elec Cooling Fan
-Install Locking Hubs
-Finish Install of Shocks
-Fill differentials, Tcase, etc....
-Hook up Winch

Other Stuff that Needs to be done but may not get done tomorrow:
-Remove Body Lift
-Trim rear panels for stretch
-Trace down cross wire from ignition switch

I'm just about done!!! Pics tomorrow hopefully!!

I removed the rear axle, got the perches welded up and shock tabs done on the rear. Axle back in. I need to finish tigtening all the new brake line fittings, a couple are loose and leaking when pressure applied. I started trying to trace down the wiring issue, and it has lead me to believe it's under the dash... When key turned to crank, the Brake warning light comes on the dash.... hit the brakes and the starter cranks...

I got the pinion angle set, and started to burn in the spring perches.

Total done friday/today:
-Finished install of rear brakes
-Mounted Elec. Fan
-Hooked up Cooling hoses
-Filled Radiator
-Hookedup throttle cable
-Pinion Angle Set
-Welded 1/2 of one rear spring perch
-Front shock mounts tacked in place
-Inside of jeep cleaned out

To Do List for tomorrow:
-Finish welding spring perches
-Finish welding Shock Tabs
-Finish mounting drag link
-Replace U-joints in front D/S
-Install Serpentine Belt
-Bleed Brakes/Adjust rear shoes
-Wire Elec Cooling Fan
-Install Locking Hubs
-Finish Install of Shocks
-Fill differentials, Tcase, etc....
-Hook up Winch

Other Stuff that Needs to be done but may not get done tomorrow:
-Remove Body Lift
-Trim rear panels for stretch
-Trace down cross wire from ignition switch

I'm just about done!!! Pics tomorrow hopefully!!
The time it took for you to think and post all of this you could have got half that stuff finished!:harhar: keep at it, youll be out breaking stuff and having to fix it before you know it. hehe

HAh thanks Brandon. taking off work 1/2 day tomorrow gonna get to busin ass on it I traced down the wiring issue I think...somewhere under dash which makes no sense..... unless something between the 93 6cyl harness changed from the 95 4cyl harness under the dash.... turn ign & brake warning light comes on dash.... hit brakes & starter turns over........ still need bolts for stock bodymounts.... hardware store is loving me lately.... spent over $20 just on nuts/bolts so far in last week lol

Got alot accomplished yesterday... but alas, thanks to defect parts it is not complete. Advance sold me a fubar Right Caliper, so it's going back here in a few hours. (Upset Advance on 419 is no longer open til 12/Midnight) Jeep did make it's firts maiden voyage under it's own power. I drove it around the field 1x with just rear brakes. Will upload pics/video later on.

To Do List:

Replace Caliper/Bleed front brakes
Wire Elec. Fan
Install Hardware for Shocks
Install front D/S
Install Locking Hubs
Install Serpentine Belt
Re-check torque on all suspension bolts, etc...
Test Drive/Break In period

Also at some point going to replace the dash harness with the one I bought with my engine harness to try and resolve the ignition/brake cross over problem.

Caliper was fine... morons who rebuilt it put in a slug instead of bleed screw. It looked like a bleed screw, but it wasnt.... Got it fixed, brakes bled, and rear drums adjusted out. Serpentine belt installed and tensioned, along w/ A/C compressor is on, Which leads me to my question... Anyone have write up on converting A/C compressor into an on-board air system? Going back over to finish install of hub assemblies, and recheck all torque specs, but first dinner is calling my name.

Thanks to Dave for helpin me out today get stuff fixed. And to my wonderful g/f for helping me the last few weekends, and giving me extra motivation to get the beast done.

When I saw your Jeep sitting in the yard the other afternoon I seriously almost ran off the road.. then I gave serious consideration to turning around and checking it out. It looked like a monster, and I guess I don't see them with a lot of serious work very often. I've always wanted a Jeep but am pretty new to the "scene" and most of the Jeep's I've seen cruising around are mall crawlers (admittedly like my own thus far).. haha!

Ripped the stock trans mount in half Sunday... New Poly, hi-performance will be in tomorrow AM and installed. Still having over-heating issues after swap of t-stat. Going to get a new radiator from Evercool, they have best price prices in town so far, with lifetime warranty. I did get the new hubs installed today, and they work flawlessly. Still have to reseal the rear axles, and the t-case to transmission. Also the rear main brake line is leaking from the fitting. Couldn't get it tight enough as a previous owner stripped it... will have to cut it off and reflair new fitting on.

There is not a seal between the t case and tranny. If it's leaking then either you rear output of the tranny is leaking or the front output of the t case. What rad are you using?

YJeXtreme
08-01-2010, 10:09 PM
I was trying to be cheap and lazy using the rad from the 2.5 but I've safe from buying a new one... just sold motor/trans out of my 69 Fairlane, and will be using my AFCO Aluminum Race radiator with a 20" elec fan. It kept my big block cool, so shouldn't have any issues. It was made for 5.0 mustangs, but Chris is going to weld on mounting tabs for me soon.

Been busy, not gotten anything done on the jeep as I had planned, We moved 2 wks ago, and are still in midst of getting settled into our new townhouse closer to where we grew up. Closer to my parents (aka our babysitter, my garage/shop and my projects) So now I'm 2-3mins from my folks vs 15 as it was before, saving alot of $$ in gas over the long run, and a bit cheaper on rent/utilities.

Anywho.... Thanks to Chris (evolution) my AFCO Radiator is welded up with some mounting tabs, I bit the bullet today and bought a new waterpump, figured the old one possibly had 93k if it was never replaced, and it's a precautionary measure. If new rad & water pump don't resolve overheating the head is coming off and I'll tear it apart, clean it, check for warpage/cracks and rebuild it. But that is a last resort option. I also got new battery today so I can start and move the jeep again... I plan to spend one of the next 2 weekends thrashing on it, since I'll be unable to make big dogs due to lack of fundage. Spent all my spare play funds on getting the new place to live.

Well major bummer, I was too quick in my measuring for my AFCO Rad... It would fit perfectly if I had full hydro steering... I didn't take into consideration the gear box, so the rad sets on top of it, and hits the steering linkage from the column, so will be going to Everide to pickup new rad today or tomorrow.... Pulled Water pump off, it looks to be fairly new, no corrosion, etc... and inside of the block is very clean. Hope to be running by this weekend again...

New rad from Everide is in, finally think I got all the air burped out of the system... Still runs warm in my opinion at 210-215ish. I'm running a new Stant 180* thermostat, performance Alum. core rad from Everide, with Highflow Elec fan that stays on from time jeep is started. However what I've been reading today seems that most people's 4.0s and 4.2s run daily at 210ish. Any input?

Also finally got the new poly trans mount installed. Works much better.

The HO 4.0 will run on the warm side. All of mine run from 195-210. How is the A/F ratio? You may be able to richen the mixture some to cool it off a few degrees.

No Idea on the A/F ratio Jon, nor really how to check it, or adjust it on a fuel injected vehicle LOL. I'm new to the world of inline 6's, always had V8s and 2 diff 4cyl, one being the jeep, the other my old cavalier... My big block fords always ran cool at 180, and would peak at around 200 sitting still in traffic with extreme temps outside. Going to finally get the rear axles sealed up right today, front D/S installed, and remove the body lift.

xjtrailrider
09-05-2010, 10:10 AM
You can use a scan tool to check the A/F ratio since you are OBD2 now. Too fool the ECU, you can move the "MAT" (manifold air temperature) sensor to a cooler location like the air box/air tube, this will allow the sensor to send a cooler reading to the ECU and the ECU will compensate with a slightly richer mixture. But you need to check the A/F ratio first to make sure you are not already on the rich side or you could throw it too far the wrong way.

Okay, then you would have to get the A/F ratio with a sniffer at the tail pipe but either way moving the MAT will richen the mixture slightly

09-05-2010, 11:48 AM
The only wayto get a correct a/f ratio is with a wideband a/f gauge with the sensor before the cat.converter and 12-24 inches from the manifold. Making changes to change the ratio without knowing what it is will result in nothing good, too rich and your wasting gas and too lean and detenation. I was into hondas and built a turbo engine and had to tune it for a/f but that was in a honda with a chipped ecu and datalogging capabilities thru a autometer wideband gauge.

Oh well, jeep runs fine, just warmer than I'm used to with other vehicles I've owned and built... I got a little bit done today, pulled the rear axles and resealed them with silicone to fix them from leaking. Readjusted the rear drums, and started to check torque on all suspension bolts. Got a few more to do, and that'll be done tomorrow. Also plan to install front D/S and rear shocks. Then a small joy ride in the creek at my parents to check suspension out. LoL

Big Red 95
09-06-2010, 08:12 PM
I had someone tell me you can use a vacuum cage to get the A/F ratio set right. they said that at the point of highest vacuum should be a good ratio. not sure if that only applies to carbed engine though. It is probably different with FI.

I'm not concerned with it at the moment, Jeep runs fine, and from what i've been told by numerous 4.0 owners, they run norm at 210. I've ran the jeep for about 30min intervals, playing around the fields at my Parent's without any issues.

I got rear shocks mounted today, and all suspension bolts torqued down. Need to fill front diff and install drive shaft, along with modify my 4x4 shifter to fit the AX-15 since it's bigger in girth than the AX5 that the shifter was mounted to previously. I apparently didn't seal my pass. side rear axle well enough, it's still leaking, not as bad as it was, but still leaking. Also got the winch wired up too. Slowly making progress, should be done this coming weekend.

Good to see you today my friend. As you have stated the temp range on the 4.0 is well within range of normal operating temps. To make it cooler is a simple process . . . upgrade the rad or just run "water wetter" till the budget allows. Multiple other options Im not gonna waste my breathe on as you already know.:p As far as the rest . . . I will head over and run a live data stream on the ECM and we can go from there bro.
Keep in mind running the OBD 1 will limit the amount of data.

All BS aside just finish the damn thing . . . I miss wheeling with you

Got front d/s installed this AM, and front diff filled with fluid, also got tcase shifter bolted up, but still need to adjust the rod a little before can finish hooking it up. Will have to remove body lift for it to operate properly without rubbing the trans tunnel.... I HATE Body lifts... Will reseal rear axle and likely get body lift removed this evening.

As for upgrading the Rad Sean... only upgrade would be a remote mount of a much larger/thicker cored radiator like the one I had in my fairlane. But then I loose visibility, and streetability. The rad in it is an upgrade from Everide, it's an aluminum core, performance radiator. running a 17" Elec fan.

PS I did manually pull it into 4-Low and played around in the yard some... DAMN I love 5.13s and the 4.0L, there's a few stumps in our back field about 16" tall or more depending on angle you go from, and it crawled over them in 1st gear w/o any throttle or hesitation. I'm gonna love hitting potts, crozet, etc... still go to get the feel for it, so first trip will be to a buddies house this weekend if his rigs are still in one piece, or Crozet on Oct 9th

Yep it's the shake down run... already a few things I know will need to be done, but I'm anxious to wheel it once before I resolve those issues... Well I feel like a dumbass.... I ordered the WRONG D44 locker. I got one for a D44HD, which is too large to fit in my carier. I had ordered the Yukon Spartan locker. Emailed the Company yesterday, and got carrier back in/together. Beleive I found the source of my noise.... My inner short-side shaft is bent... I had to grind the old ujoint down to pull it out, and the new one the cap will not seat in properly to fit the new clips on....

We made some significant progress on the suspension of the jeep today. Thanks a ton to Brian and Sean for loaning time, space, tools, etc... Brian should have some during and after pics... Removed the dual main leaf from rear springs, and added a small leaf from the rear pack to the front springs... Results about 3/4" drop in rear and 3/4" drop in front with still decent flex on both ends. Rear was extremely stiff before, haven't had it out to test yet. We also replaced the leaf spring bushings on the front springs since they were from Brett's 85ish Grand Wagoneer... alot of miles and years later the were toasted.... Need some new front shackles (stock ones are thin and crappy) along with new shackle bushings. Will pull body lift once Sean has lift installed in garage for quicker and safer experience.... I got the body lift off today.... was a bit of a fiasco as I had apparently left my box of hardware at Sean's last weekend... All bolts came out with a little elbow grease, and some back strain with a breaker bar... Body setting back on the frame. for now... I have one bolt that is stuck inside the body bushing... Cut it in half, going to apply alot of head, and beat the hell out of it. Looks a lot better, and stance is completely leveled out. Just need some beefier front shackles at stock height... Have a set of aftermarket shackles I ran on a car before... will have to cut them shorter, and drill 1 new hole in each peice. They're 1/4" much better than the stock stamped pieces, until I get my boomerang shackles... Will followup with picks tomorrow!

Well, since the initial "completion" I have been fighting my rear axle housing... It's leaked horrible since I got it together, so last month I installed new Axle Bearings, Seals, and Races... only proved to make the leaking issue worse... and after my 1st trip on the street during the SCMM Cruise on Williamson 2wks ago, the jeep ate up the driver's side bearing completely welding the cage to the race... Replaced bearing and seal again on Tuesday, took it out for 30mins yesterday, and same bearing side was smoking, and pass side pouring out gear lube... I was hoping to be able to nurse it until I could get my new housing together with Chromoly's and timken bearings... looks like Punisher is down and out until I'm done...
