Hello All, I found this site through a post in a site I frequent often. My name is Jeremy. I'm located in good O'l Lynchvegus! I own a 87 Sami and a 01 Jeep Cherocar. My Sami is currently under the knife for the time being so the Cherocar is the devoted daily * for now *. I like to meet new wheelers and wheel as often as I can.
The Samurai. . .

Thanks guys! Yeah the only trail nearest me worth anything is Shoe Creek. Some friends and I run it pretty often. We enjoy it, it can become very technical after a bit of rain.
And about the orange stripe and the " A Team " LOL, That's one I haven't heard yet! Pretty funny!
I would love to meet some of you in person and out on the trails! I/friends come to Roanoke some, maybe next time I do I will post it up and meet a few of you guys!
Cootees, Thanks for the link! :2thumbsup:

There will be another chance though!

Everyone I talk to that said they had one says they regret getting rid of it. I love mine. A headache sometimes but I gotta say that its honestly a blast & a load of fun. It truly makes things interesting! Reason you parted from yours, if you don't mind me asking?

I needed a rig I could drive on road trips comfortably with the doors on.
I sold it to a guy from Lynchburg ( Ha ! ) in 1998 . It was white and kind of wrinkled.

I hear ya! Yeah, that was the reason in me buying my Cherocar. The comfyness compared to the Sami is night and day.
" Kind of wrinkled " Hahaha! Small world huh?!

Jeremy, i like the k5.. my brother used to wheel a k5. On another note.. k5 to a sammy.. thats quite a leap in the opposite direction.

I enjoyed the Blazer to the fullest, other than the fact it was just SOOOO big. It wasn't much fun OffRoad. I drove over everything that it could fit on, even a car. I guess it could have been fun in mud but I don;t like the stuff myself. I honestly think that my Samurai would walk circles around my Blazer off road.

Definately the sammy is basically a street legal golf cart. I tried to convince my wife into getting one to build for her but so far it's never happened.
All my bro did in his k5 was mud but that was what he enjoyed.

Welcome Jeremy. Sweet Sami. I think I have seen you on the road in and around Lynchburg. My wife is originally from Mad Heights and I am originally from Appomattox but we now live up in Nelson county. We still spend a lot of time around the Lynchburg area.

Glorified GoCart it is! Hahaha! Yeah, I just knew the potential in the Samurai so I went for it. At the time I didn't have the cash to just buy it so we worked up a trade. The Blazer was just huge. I didn't want to take the time to shrink it so I went for something else. I do miss the Blazer though.
There is a good chance you did see me. Before I pulled it off road to tear it down I drove it everywhere. I now zip around in my Cherocar awaiting the glorious day the Sami returns! Any decent spots out in Nelson ( legal places )?

Not much here in Nelson other than Shoe Creek which you have already mentioned. Oak Ridge Estate is private property but they do have quite a few events there every year (UFWDA and VAFWD have annual runs). Big Levels (Stoney Run) is also nearby just off of the parkway. Crozet is always a good option as well if you are a member of RCPFA (www.rcpfa.com).

You know, I haven't became a member at Crozet yet. I've wheeled with a event there once and enjoyed the hell out of it! . I'm looking into it. When I'm done with the project I will look more into it. I have been to OakRidge a bout 5 times and it is fun, just gets old quick. The last time we went to Big Levels we started at the bottom and I guess were about 4-5 levels up when we started noticing little yellow signs up in the trees saying that we were not supposed to be there. We got out. That was over a year and a half ago.

Hey Jeremy just want to welcome you to scc. Nice sammy, they must really ride ruff to compare them to an xj as night and day. My xj rides like a settler's wagon. Look forward to meeting you out on the trails:driving:

My Samurai can best be described as a Japanese fighter plane. It has no sway bars what so ever, worn out springs and long shocks with no bumpstops.
The Cherocar on the other hand is as stock as stock gets. For now anyway. Is your XJ modded? I wouldn't be able to compare a modded Sami to a Cherokee because I've never ridden in a modded Cherokee.:(
