over the past weekend, my parents were out visiting for the long weekend. my dad helped me build a new workbench for the shop. along the way, we gave it a nickname - M.O.A.B. ... the Mother Of All Benches. :D there might be better ones out there, but this thing is a beast in our eyes.

i originally was going to use 4x4 posts, but i had a bunch of 2x4's laying around unused but too short to use for anything else. so we screwed together the free 2x4's i had laying around. 4 screws per leg and were eventually bolted together with an additional 4 bolts.

the back 2x6 bolted on and the bottom shelf in place

front 2x6 bolted in and shelf removed (can't remember why we did this) we also rotated it so it's now facing the correct direction (front facing away from the wall)

the parts are painted and ready for me to start stripping down the undercoating and get to a lot of stick welding and frame drilling.

Are those the RuffStuff stiffeners? I need to come by and check that stuff out before you burn them on.

Nice!

yup. the back-sides are covered in some weld-through 3M primer. i've left the outsides bare for now cause i can still get to that side after mounting for paint.

Dude, are you sporting JUST a mustache, or is the goatee just not showing up very well? If it is just the stache, then I must say...

Dang. I was hoping you were sporting just the 'stache. Every time I shave my beard or goatee, I leave the stache until wifey threatens to shave it off herself. She just doesn't like the 70's cop/ porn star stache.

Oh, to keep from hijacking the thread too much, I like the bench.
