Funny I don't remember posting in this thread yet. :sFun_tease:
He he had to Jon:D

I think the break is around 97 - 98 on those Jon will have to verify that cause I'm not sure. ,
As far as removal VERY easy. Pull the door panel and look for the 6 or 7 bolts that secure the window regulator to the door panel. Loosen the bolts and the hole thing will pull up a bit and slip through the slots in the door frame.

Got a few tricks and a nifty tool to help hold the glass.

There was a guy online that sold a repair kit for the window regulator but I never tried it. I think Jon did and he was NOT impressed.

Call me before you order that thing Matt ,I get discounts at the dealership.:thumb:

I tried that repair kit and it did not work for me although it has for others. The factory design was terrible on the 97+ models, the replacement is made better/different.

The repair kit is around $30 vs. the 200+ for the regulator.

Sean, I have a cool tool to hold the glass with too, its called duct tape! 3 long pieces of duct tape over the top of the window frame will hold it until you get done.

This one would be out of the 93, so if it will work for you then let me know and I will try and remove it later this afternoon or tomorrow.

They're real proud of all their parts that they had to re-design.

As common as these are for failure I didn't want to install a used one when mine crapped out and be stuck buying another one in a few months. I thought I paid closer to $200 though.

Here is a link to the repair kit;

You may try this first and if it doesn't work he will refund the money, he did ours. Its easy to put in as well.

You need to make friends with the guy behind the parts counter! There is at least a 70% mark up on everything. I usually get stuff at "cost + 10%", but I do not play that "ace" on a day to day basis, just when the big stuff hits at the wrong time!

Matt call me mon and I will check on my cost at the stealership for you.

Jon yeah duct tape works great but I've had some picky customers in the past and the thought of leaving residue on some one 60K$ Vette didn't sound like a good idea.:sSc_eek2:

Besides I'm a tool junkie what can I say.:D

Must stay away from Snap-On truck must stay away!:wings::D
