Star City Crawlers was formed by a couple of friends with like minded interests in Jeeps and Four Wheeling. As of May 2007, the idea had grown to a generalized free site, and the birth of SCC4x4 had begun. The founders, J.T. Wood (aka YJeXtreme) and Chris Underwood (aka HardcoreWheelin) wanted to take an approach to 4x4 clubs, without all the hierarchy, titles, positions, etc... A group of peers looking to have fun, promote safe four wheeling, land use responsibility, and provide a family oriented atmosphere where everyone feels welcome.

As of Sept 2007, the webspace and domain was purchased for SCC4x4, leading to a more permanent fixture for the online community. The site wasn't much to begin with, but over the last 4 years has grown to professional forum and publishing suite software by VBulletin, and is constantly making room for improvements for user interface. Our goal still remains the same, to provide a place where everyone feels welcome to wheel in any rig they have, from stock to extreme. Yet our site has moved to cater not only to those who wish to identify themselves as "club members" but to all of the Off-roading community throughout Southwestern Virginia, and anywhere they may be.
