hmm only one way to find out! we need to plan a run there. Hmm let me make a few calls!!! I would enjoy a nice little trail ride.

Is it open and from looking at maps it appears it crosses the parkway in some form is this true? Thanks

I planned on going Sunday around noon. With a friend and his truck. Let me know if you wanna meet.
I know this is an old thread, but I ran the trail today. It's in my friends back yard... so we hit it up and I did my first "real" trail ride in my Jeep.
The last picture does not do it justice.![]()

Montvale. If you're coming from Roanoke, you turn left as soon as you pass the police station/library/school/whatever that is... There's always a sheriff's car parked out front. Stay on the road for a couple miles and you'll end up on gravel switchbacks. Keep going past the state maitenence and you will come up on one last driveway with a big log cabin at the end of it. You want to go left, not right (the driveway).
I think I'm going to hit it again Sunday if anyone wants to go. It's a walk in the park for most of you, but it's local and it's something everyone can do and enjoy (I think).
If you plan to go up without me at any point in time, no big deal... It's a legit open trail from what I was told, but he warned/asked me to give him a heads up so he can let his family and neighbors know what's going on if they see a bunch of cars going by onto the trail. As I saw, there have apparently been some vandals hitting the trail in the past and they're trying to self police that problem.
The trail is open,i road through there this wed. from the Montvale side. There were a few trees down but no prod. The trail comes out a mile from where my dad moved to near Buchannon. Its a good ride.
Had a HEMI, SOLD it.Still got the JEEP
.There ain't no where i can't CREEP!
hey ya'll i'm thinking about running this today with one of my buddies from vmi in his toyota. what is this terrain like? is it in any way comparable to stoney run or shoe creek? less or more difficult?
would anyone be interested in doing stoney run and shoe creek today? the only reason i was thinking bobletts is because im not sure if i can find the trailhead and make the transistion between the two trails and end up in lexington the way we'd like to without paul (blueh2o) last time i checked he worked nights so im not sure if i wanna call him up to get trail info. anyone know it well?
