    Default B jones's 94 YJ

This is my build thread, not in order but here we go!

1994 YJ wrangler-2.5l, 5 speed, rubicon express 4.5"xd lift, 1"bl, 1 1/4" shackle lift, tera low 2wd, d30 w/lockright, 35"bfg km2 on 15x8 alum. rims, ramsey pro 6000 winch, rugged ridge rrc rear bumper, custom sliders and swing away tire carrier, sye with tom woods cv driveshaft,8.8 31 spline(open), custom HD steering, hella 500 driving lights, TJ flares, cobra 20plus cb with custom antenna mount, bestop trailmax 2 seats, ultimate 2 locking center console, complete tub raptor lined, upgraded front roll cage(soon to come- full cage).

instead of replacing the busted r&p in my weak35 I am going with a 8.8 with 4.10 gears already in it. I am using this website as it has tons of great info : http://www.jedi.com/obiwan/jeep/ford88.html
8.8 when i first started on it

    Quality isnt expensive, its priceless!
You know you drive a YJ when it is no longer getting older, but slowly becoming brand new part by part.

I just need to set the pinion angle and tack the spring perchs and shock mounts on then pull it out full weld them and put a coat of paint and hook the brakes up, disc brakes
where it will be by the end of the week!

just went for a quick spin around the block and everything works good. Need to flex it out and make sure theirs no issues. Was weird tho, turning and the rear tires not chirping like when i had a locker . Makes me want a selectable even more! will post some final pic later.

I reused the stock spring perchs and cut the shock mounts off the 8.8 spring plates and used them also.I have done this on the cheap by doing all the work myself and scrounging for parts and finding a hell of a deal on the axle, including the axle and brake line parts and paint I have less than $200 in this swap!! and onto the pics
welds and the final painting before install

finished up the steering and it works perfect. Its setup just like the stock just alot beefier and over the knuckle so it will clear the diff cover!

custom tire carrier mounted to rugged ridge rrc bumper
    made from 1 3/4x1 3/4" 1/8" thick square tube
basic latch of a nut and bolt for right now
dont know what the spindle is for I just happen to come across it
plate is 3/16" and the tube is notched for when the hard top is on because of the handle

just installed a cobra 20plus cb and made a custom antenna mount sorta like the tera flex but made of aluminum. I know aluminum is not the best but it works and gives when pulled on like by trees out on the trail without breaking the antenna.

Nice work my friend. I love any build done on a budget! Look forward to wheeling with you soon. Keep digging around on forums, CL,E-bay.etc for a locker for that 8.8
