Thread: Tri-throne

    Default Tri-throne

Well I picked this thing up from a friend last year for $40 brought it home threw a tarp over it and that was it. We thought it would be fun to put this in the parade and after seeing Matt's jedi buggy build getting started I got inspired.

Built a company in Ohio in the 70's or earlier 80's best I can tell.

Picked up some bling from northern on Sun.

Never thought I could have this much fun with a broken brake line and an empty energy drink bottle. Dummy NOS system should get a few laughs.

This thing has a small diff about the size of a can of Fosters and cutting brakes.

Came with an old pressure washer motor. Drained the fluids and cleaned the plug. A shot of starting fluid and got it's running. . . . A 5HP briggs is kinda loud with out an exhaust!

    Tires are 22x11 R8 22's baby! LOL

After a few bench racing sessions with the boys and my better half we got a plan and a name. Meet the Tri-Throne
Going to paint the body in that fleckstone paint that looks like granite. Sand and paint frame, install dummy NOS system,Kay and her aunt are going to be hand stitching a seat out of vinyl and foam.

Gotta go pick up some odds and ends this week for it. Throttle muffler new plug etc.
Any ideas on paint scheme etc are welcome.
This thing is gonna be FUN!!

Well I have a lot of great pics I can't share right now due to camera issues.
Had a lot of help and ideas from Pete,Dave,JT,Kay,and Bryce(our 5 year old build leader) LOL
New motor be hear Wed frame done and painted body being prepped now and will be in the capable hands of Arlee (Pete's Dad who is an amazing artist)
Have a box full of parts ready to go on as well as a few things I'm still fabbing up. Man this has been the most fun on any build I have ever done.
Simple lots of bench racing and the kids are exstatic. Now if I can just keep Pete from getting in trouble during the parade we are good.
