Sean, funny you mention the interior...I was getting ready to ask if you wouldn't mind posting a few shots of it? I may have to take you up on your invitation to stop by sometime so I can check that thing out (translation - drool over it).

Scrambler looks great! I've also loved the CJ-8's. and the proportions on yours look about perfect IMO. How do you like your Yokohamas by the way? I'm considering those in the same size as soon as I wrap up my RE long arm that I'm in the process of installing on my TJ. Also, did you buy them locally?

Rick I'm picking up a Howell TBI kit for the Scrambler as soon as tax $ gets here. Will do a full right up on install as well u- joint replacement and hub rebuild.

You can build your own out of JY 4.3 chevy parts. This is what I had planned until I found a good deal on new Howell kit. More info on the web ,found a good write up on it a while ago will post a link as soon as I can.

The Yoko's are actually pretty good! Great in the rocks, good on the street only complaint so far is side walls could be a lil thicker. Poked hole in one at Crozet but in there defense it was a ptretty darn sharp rock.

If you wanna come by and check out aka (drool ) as you put it over the Scrambler Ruckered give me a call man. LOL

OK time to rethink old Stretch.
I have had a blast with this thing and it will definately be a vehicle that will always be in the family.

Heres the problem though . . . after trading the XJ for my tow rig, both of my rigs are only 2 seaters.

Me + Kay + 2 kids you get my point.

    So I'm going 4 seater.

What I have: fold and tumble rear seat from a YJ.

What I need: full soft top or hard top, rear seat belts, neoprene seat covers to make the seats match, gonna have to build a tire carrier for the spare now. No room in bed for rear seat and spare tire.

Thinking about modifying an LJ sport cage to fit my needs. Dont want to build a cage for it. I need this to be reversible when the time comes.

Got a line on a ACME full hard top in C-ville will go take a look this weekend.

Thoughts, ideas , and parts are welcome.

Are you buying Chris's old cage?

Also there is room for the seat and tire as long as the tire stands upright. My tire carrier will be for sale. I'll cut the mounts off the bumper so all you'll have to do is straighten out the bend that I have on it for the xj rear hatch and weld it on. I need it on there until Labor Day then it will be available. Has your bolt pattern on the mount as well.

Sean have you seen the Extreme 4x4 show about the Scrambler they built? I think they used a CJ7 hardtop and it left a little bed that you could stand the tire up in.

Yep I saw the Scrambler build on Extreme. Still pissed I couldnt make it to the Scrambler nationals they unveiled and wheeled it at the nats in AR about 2 months ago.

The hard top i found belonged to fellow Scrambler owner that unfortunately had to sell his rig. Might be the same guy, shoot me the # and I will check.

Matt thanks for the offer but if Chris hasnt sold his tire carrier I'm buying his old one. I never really was a fan of them they obstruct vision bad! But I need room for the dog to man!LOL
I need all of the mods to be reversible. When budget allows for me to build another rig I will be returning the 8 back to a half cab.

After some digging I decided on this for the sport cage.

James at Rock Hard 4x4 is a great guy and he is offering me a nice discount.
I like the fact it isnt an eye sore and is removable.

Looks like I'm getting a full soft top as well. 4wd hardware has a heck of a deal going right now.

Finally got the $ for the FI kit, will be using a Howell TBI kit just like the one on Lucky.

Found a good deal on a set of chromoly front axles with larger U-joints as well.

Thinking about a 4.0 head conversion for the 258 as well . . . if I can find the site that had them again. LOL

I will get pics of the progress up as the parts arrive.

Any comments or ideas are welcome. If anyone finds a deal on a TBI kit let me know would ya.
