    Default NRV Trails???

I live in Giles, but I'm getting pretty bored with the mountain roads around here (Mountain Lake, Dismal) . Anyone got any ideas that wouldn't take me half a day to get there. I.E. the New River Valley area.

Well there was Bobcat, but we are all waiting to hear what is going to happen with that. The best trail around here is Potts Mountain, I expect that would be about an hour/ 1.5 hour drive. It really just depends on the capability of your rig. I would by no means try Potts alone, Bobcat (if it is still open) might be another story because it is not that bad but it is easy to break stuff and that would be a long walk home.

Anything remotely challenging is a drive. I did Potts last week in 2wd except the bypass. And I probably could have done that with a little go juice. I just didn't want to break anything.

What might be unchallenging to you could very well be challenging to others.

Yeah, i'm just looking for something different, regardless of the challenge. Any of you guys heard of Gravely Hill Rd. over here in Giles? I've only been through it once. And wouldn't go by myself again. It gets kind of "interesting" in some places but it sounds like you guys would like it. It's an old unused road, (was covered in mudder tracks) but the only people I can find that have heard of it are the old timers that don't wheel anymore.

Never heard of it, but I looked it up on MS streets and trips. It looks like it is the road that goes past mt. lake and up into the National Forest. I've been up there a little ways, and taken the left to make the Mt. Lake trail run, but never up to the N. Fork Mtn Road side before.

I'm not too sure it isn't just a gravel road all the way out there, but could very possibly be wrong.
